Absolute Consulting Recognizes National Safety Month
PUBLISHED: JUNE 16, 2017
Each June, the National Safety Council celebrates National Safety Month. This council, which has been a leader in workplace safety for over a century, focuses on “reducing leading causes of injury and death at work, on the road, and in our homes and communities.”
Absolute Consulting is proud to support numerous clients in their safety-related endeavors through our skilled employees. One such example is our long-time Field Professional, Mr. Jim Slater. Mr. Slater has almost 40 years of environmental, health, and safety experience and has held positions to include Site Construction Manager and Resident Engineer. He has held a Certified Safety and Health Manager designation and is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
Mr. Slater currently serves as a Health & Safety Professional supporting one of our largest utility clients. In the past few years, his projects have included new builds, repairs, and replacements within the fossil, gas, and hydroelectric power generation sector. His day-to-day responsibilities include visiting different job sites, meeting with various contractors, and ensuring they are fulfilling their responsibilities to meet the safety guidelines. He focuses on continual improvements and ensuring employees fully understand and are engaged in a culture of safety. He is a proponent of sharing lessons learned to enable others to make decisions and take actions that promote the safest outcomes.
In his own words, Jim’s responsibilities might be summarized as “mentoring and counselling workers in growing their engagement and understanding of the safety culture that they are a part of. These are not only work lessons, these are truly ‘Life Lessons.’” As he likes to say, “mighty oaks from little acorns grow.”
Absolute Consulting would like to thank Mr. Slater and all of our Field Professionals for their continued dedication and service to our valuable clients! Please contact us today for more information on our safety-related staff augmentation services.
